What is the I.S.S.F.?
Founded in 1907, the ISSF governs Olympic shooting and affiliates more than 150 national federations.
The International Shooting Sport Federation — the ISSF — was founded in 1907 as the International Shooting Union, changing its name in 1998. It is the governing body for Olympic shooting events.
The ISSF governs the sport of shooting and Olympic qualification, and organises the major international competitions: the ISSF World Cup Series, the ISSF World Cup Finals and the World Championships, across rifle, pistol and shotgun.
It affiliates nowadays over 150 National Shooting Federations from Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe and Oceania, and regulates both Olympic and non-Olympic shooting events. Its administrative centre is in Munich, Germany.
