Every last Saturday the ISSF Group hosts its 50m Rifle competition. The course of fire is 60 shots prone, scored on decimal targets, with unlimited sighters before the first counting shot.

The relay is open to members of every standard, and newer shooters are squadded alongside experienced competitors rather than kept apart. The group keeps a running ranking through the season — David Rickman’s 579/600 from August 2016 is still the score on the club board.

Capacity: Open relay — first come, first served
Entry fee: Range fee payable at the office
Entries close: Squadding closes fifteen minutes before the first relay
Who can enter: Open to JRA members and accompanied guests

What to bring

Smallbore rifle in .22 LR
Sling, glove and jacket if you shoot with them
Spotting scope and stand
Eye and ear protection
Ammunition for 60 counting shots plus sighters

Range Opens & Squadding
Sign in at the office, collect targets and take a firing point.
8:00 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.
Sighting Shots
Unlimited shots on the sighter diagram before the relay is called to the line.
8:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.
Sixty Shots Prone
The counting match, shot in two details with a range reset between them.
9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Scoring & Club Board
Targets scored at the office and the month’s ranking posted.
12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.
