The President’s Cup is the JRA’s own IPSC Level 2 match, and the one fixture on the calendar that fills the pistol bays end to end. The 2016 edition drew over forty entries competing across five stages; the 2026 match is built to the same shape, with a shoot-off added for the top eight.

Practical pistol calls for competitors to move, negotiate obstacles, run fast and speed load their pistols, with time being the essence of every event. Stages are published in the match bulletin a fortnight out so squads can plan their approach before they walk them on the morning.
